Saskatchewan's SECRET Gold Mining Development.
via The Free Dictionary - Escrow Accounts, A Legal Definition
A legal definition of an escrow account in the Faralax Free Dicitonary is encouraging in that deposits in escrow accounts have expiry dates.
They are also not subject to changes, and that certain obligations are incurred.
That means settlement dates must be observed. In the case of the Waterton Agreement, it was to have closed by May 9 at the latest.
It would not be entirely absurd in the case commodities that an agriculturalist would build up an inventory glut of soft commodities and then make use of escrow to settle the sale of these commodities into the market, so this would be the same in the case of a gold miner that builds up an inventory of dore bars to be sold into the market.

The following chart is interesting in that it demonstrates a very 'hard' determination of how to evaluate gold against commodities, and therefore the rest of the markets.
It's interesting since people have been scrambling to the call the bottom in gold even after it had completed the decline:

Euro Area Yield Curve
One detail that is sure to be missed in the financial media are negative nominal rates in the Euro Area Yield Curve, as well as a negative deposit rate with the ECB.

$Gold Daily
The daily gold price chart is showing little downwards momentum, and has bled off upwards momentum. The next couple of weeks aught to be very telling:
$Gold/Silver Ratio
The Gold/Silver ratio has been helpful in determining buying/selling points, but nobody could forsee the kind of poison pill strategies adopted by GBN.V, such as mill shut-downs which were apparently false, and the withholding of financial information.
Should that share price now correlate with the Gold/Silver ratio, rather than form a strong inverse correlation as it has in the past, then that aught to mean that buying and selling points should also become obvious.
