There appears to be an off-ramp north onto the ice in the main body of Mallard Lake not only in this one location, but in several locations around Mallard Lake. Bird's eye view gives you the April, 2012 photography.

This one appears to have a drill shack where the platform is built onto the berm, immediately beside what appears to be a former step ladder waterfall for fish to access the lake. It has to be a drill shack, because snow in the same location is a different shade, and the corners are very sharp.

Drainage for the lake goes right under the road at this location.
