Resource projects cover more than 1,713 km2 in three provinces at various stages, including the following: hematite magnetite iron formations, titaniferous magnetite & hematite, nickel/copper/PGM, chromite, Volcanogenic Massive and gold.
I never said he does not know anything about geology... He reads and he learns, but he is not a geologist, and he should not be referred to as one. It does matter to me, as it should to anyone. There is a big difference between being a geologist and having the both the academic and practical knowledge that entails, and learning about geology and becoming somewhat profficient in it.
I know a lot about medicine from what I have read over the years, and have sucessfully diagnosed and treated myself for many illnesses while in remote Africa and far from any doctor. However, that does not make me a defacto doctor, and I would be the first to say that anyone that ever asks my opinion about a medical matter that I am no doctor. It would also be wrong to present myself as one or be referrd to as one. As is the case for medical doctors, geologists are members of a professional asscoiation with a code of ethics, etc. In fact, they are certified as engineers in Canada.
I think you should ask yourself why you put a lot of faith in what he says. What do you base that on?
If JD learns about geology and writes posts based on what he reads and learns, or which paraprase what he has read, then they are unlikely to be grossly erroneous. However, what he writes should be read in the context of knowing that he is not a geologist and is only reguritating information and generating opinions based on what he thinks he knows about geology... Anyone of you can do that.
I have noticed mistakes in what some of he writes (as there are mistakes in some of what I write - we all make mistakes), and I have even raised this when they were significant, but because he has such a blind following nobody really cares. I find this rather amusing actually, so I no longer say anything... Just don't call him a geologist. That would be an insult to the real geologists who post on these forums. Anyone with some amount of knowledge and experience in the mining industry can immediately distinguish the difference.
As an example, a glaring case of where he reveals himself is in the pargraph of his post below. Anyone who would write something like this is obviously not a geologist, and has never worked in the mining industry.
- Why and how would he think that NOT had 10 drills on site and working?
- Why and how would he believe that assays for a 43-101 could somehow be "guestimated"? Frankly, that's absurd...
- Why and how would he think that the labs in Canada are not busy given all of the drilling that took place wit the boom in mineral exploration, and given the very long the current turnaround time for assays?
My intention is not to bash JD. However, for the integrity of the forums, I feel its is necessary that we be clear about 'who' we are listening to when we read these forums, particularly for those who do not benefit from enough relevant knowledge to know better. I have outlined my industry experience and non-professional knowledge on a number of occasions, while indicating that I am neither a geologist nor a mining engineer.

B.
