DB, did it ever occur to you that perhaps neither of us had read your post yet, before jumping to the conclusion that it was being ignored?

As for 'unsuccessful' analogs, no, I haven't really come across anything similar to Mako where it was too challenging, other than the Blackbeard well in the GOM. I mentioned that one a few weeks ago. Exxon gave up because the pressures were too high. Later on, another company re-entered the hole, drilled a little deeper, and the pressure dropped to a more workable level. Hopefully it tought Exxon a valuable lesson about giving up too soon :)
