Developing large acreage positions of unconventional and conventional oil and gas resources
That's right B2B, I agree with you on that comment you made about yourself But then what do I know. I also agree with you that dropping another penny in betaloo is a bad plan. Another waste of precious resources that should be concentrated in Mako. Let me say, before I go any further that agreeing with you on the betaloo or anyother thing revolts me to no end.
In my opinion the Betaloo involvement has to do with keeping the team busy and together while giving the impression that we are busy, diversifying and taking advantage of new opportunities.
Nothing else can happen at Mako until XOM drills and tests wells and gives this play a nod of approval for development and production. The logic is simple, if XOM cannot make a go of it, possibly no one else could in our lifetime.
So what to do in the meantime. MAB and the other boyz are comfortable working with the present team. They had cash in the pocket. Surely there must be other atractive plays to spend a little time on, and then MAB slips in PHUN's lands. A win-win situation for him and his team. Too bad it is a bad thing for the shareholders of Falcon.
Another thing you don't quite get is that there is no going to be any fund raising in the foreseable future, until XOM gives its nod of approval to development and production at Mako. No one will buy a single share peddled this way in today's market. Even granting PHUN addional shares to pay for our involvement would not work now.
So if FO decides to drop another penny in betaloo it will come in the form of hard cash, and that is another revolting thought. The best we can do is to light candles to St. XOM and pray they can make a go of Mako before we are totally doomed. The gas is there, the liquids are there, the technology is available from XOM, but it is still not a given and not 100% certain that it will all work together.
It would be nice to hear from Gustavson or lanman or some other great man just how this can come together (before xom says boo). Lanman is good at digging sucessful analogies on specific things that match (like depth at the North Sea, the application of technology to deal with the bad gases somewhere else, ect) but what about the other unsucessful one's?, where the great technology could not make it work. And what about the temp and other obnoxious gases we have to contend with. Do we know of an example that have all these ingredients (depth, temp, and various bad gases in relatively high concentrations) or is Mako different from others?, where all other unconventional basins are more benign (this would be the red flag for some).
