Just in the last 2 days, I was considering to post a link to a video discussing exactly what you just mentioned. Hydrogen vs Electric. Why, .... because i wonder which is the better technology. Hydrogen has been around for decades but can't seem to get a foothold. Ballard has been trying for over 20 yrs and you would think by now they would have taken over the market. Yet bus batteries may be about to break out.
Hydrogen is the most abundant gas in the universe. Burns clean with no pollutants. Seems like a great choice to replace fossil fuels and we can keep our ICE's. H doesn't have the same energy density as gasoline but we can make it work.
Not so fast there grasshopper. Many hydrogen fuel cells also require a battery. Even moreso if there are huge current demands. Then the question whether it's Green H or Blue or Grey. The infrastructure to produce Green H isn't in place and will be a lot more expensive today than pure EV's.
