Yes. Daimler has said it will use LG cells and keep battery pack assembly in house. They have also announced previously that over the next couple of years they will be scaling up production with a new building and more employees. They also have their battery R&D center next door.

I think that all will make it easier to transition to an Electrovaya cell IF 1. It is less expensive. 2. It has high energy density. 3. It is safeer. 4. It has more charge/discharge cycles. The problem is all this will take a couple of years to happen. In the mean time.... Electrovaya is trying their hand at energy storage and it looks like they just might get a piece of the pie....

The picture should be clearer around Christmas......
