Chávez, Morales, Lula to sign agreement on Amazon protection
Presidents Hugo Chávez of Venezuela, Evo Morales of Bolivia and Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva of Brazil will initial next Friday a pact to develop and protect the Amazon region, reported on Wednesday the Venezuelan government.
The meeting is to be held in Amazon city of Riberalta, some 560 miles northeast from La Paz, near the border with Brazil, where the presidents are expected to remain for four hours, reported Efe.
The three rulers would sign a declaration whereby they will undertake to support development and protection of the Amazon ecological balance, reported on Wednesday Bolivian presidency minister, Juan Ramón Quintana.
