Crystallex International Corporation is a Canadian-based gold company with a successful record of developing and operating gold mines in Venezuela and elsewhere in South America
The way it appears, the "COMMITTEE" hired Gowling to represent them and so must have already agreed to a quarantee fee. No legal firm as large as Gowling is, would undertake such a large litigous process without the guarantee. If the "committee" continued on their own, the legal fees would eat greatly into their asssets because the process has many steps and is time consuming. What if VZ take this to France like they did with GRZ although GRZ won again and VZ had to pay all legal costs.
The litigation is what it is and the final result would apply to Opt-ins and others. The Opt-ins revenue for Gowlings is gravy to them and 9% is their fee on money received over and above current expectations. I believe that by what i said in the first paragraph the opt-in idea came about to help the "committee" financially and by showing the judge the huge external support there is for this play.
