Vice President Elias Jaua said Sunday that the electricity crisis in the country have been overcome after reaching an elevation of 270 meters in the Guri Dam.

Also stressed the construction of new power plants and the acceleration of electric generation projects as part of efforts to overcome this crisis.

The statements were made during a ceremony at the Guri Dam, in the presence of Environment Minister Alejandro Hitcher, the Minister of Basic Industries and Mining, José Khan, the governor of Bolivar state, Francisco Rangel Gomez and Chairman Edelca Igor Gavidia.

Jaua criticized the "terrorism" that would have generated the media before the electricity crisis, and said it would have been overcome after reaching the height of 270 meters in the Guri Dam.

Also said the media "are misleading the people of Venezuela to the topic of security, with the theme of food."

Jaua said that "only in the socialist revolution led by the commander that Chavez is going to solve the structural problems that we have inherited from previous governments.

Environment Minister, Alejandro Hitcher stressed "the solidarity of Fidel Castro" sending "all staff and all their equipment" to implement the plan that worked during the electricity crisis in Cuba.
