Chávez: The Netherlands and US prepare raid on Venezuela

Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez claimed on Thursday in Copenhagen, Denmark, that the Netherlands and the United States are getting ready for a military assault on Venezuela.

"The Kingdom of the Netherlands is preparing together with the United States Yankee Empire, a military attack on Venezuela. I am pointing my finger to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, that is, I am accusing the Kingdom of the Netherlands of preparing together with the Yankee Empire an attack on Venezuela," said the Venezuelan president, as quoted by state-run news agency ABN.

His remarks were made during a rally of the Bolivarian Alliance of the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) for social movements in Denmark. The event took place in a sports center in Copenhagen, apropos the 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference, ending on Friday.

Chávez urged the European Union to take a stance in this matter.
