If it's an offer like this, that is holding everything up it shouldn't take Fung anytime at all to reject it. The only way a deal like that would ever be feasible, is if 51% of all of the expenses came out of Venezuela's share.
Be assured, Fung won't invest hundreds of millions of dollars in a project that will lose money or a very tiny profit, .....why bother.
True....but it might make a crappy offer from a Russian suitor more palatable. Yes...yes...I know. Then we'll go to arbitration and all get rich! Not to be a worry wart or anything....but the way the world is headed these days I think I'd opt for a bird in the hand (or something like that). Despite all of its' oil and mineral wealth....I really don't want to be standing at the back of the line of creditors waiting for their money from Venezuela 7 years from now. My guess is Fung (as an "A" Team businessman) is sick of this clownshow as well...and wants to do something meaningfull with his life (other than to continue to engage in the "KRY circle-jerk") before he dies.
But like many "glass-half-full" people have stated over the years....but (oddly enough) not much anymore: "Hugo always pays what an asset is worth when he nationalizes it". So who knows...maybe we'll get lucky.
