theres been a lot of talk about how an arbitration case would "freeze" or "lock up" the LC deposit for years.
i dont see how this would be possible because LC does belong to venezuela, much like the oil deposits that were nationalized. the icsid (or maybe the CAN govt) could freeze other ven interests in canada or possibly other parts of the world but nothing inside venezuela.
the thing that would be unique is the probability that there would be two ongoing icsid cases against 1 deposit at 1 time...vannessa and kry
while vannessa does'nt have the case that kry has imo, the vannessa case might become more and more relevant to our situation...why that case is dragging out so long i have no idea..but, if icsid were to wrap up the vanessa case and awarded them anything of significance that might make a difference to us.
i.e. lets say icsid wraps up vannessa by june (pretty likely imo) and awards them over $100mil....that could be an eye opener for hugo....the combined awards of kry/grz would pretty much negate any profits hugo could make from LC/LB...anyway, just some speculation and the assumption that hugo might follow some logic....i hav'nt seen that from him yet...
