CNPC Gets Approval for Guangdong Refinery, Business News Says
By Winnie Zhu
Feb. 26 (Bloomberg) -- China National Petroleum Corp. received government approval to build a refinery in Guangdong province to process Venezuelan crude, the China Business News said, citing a company official it didn’t name.
CNPC has yet to pick a site for the refinery, which will have an annual processing capacity exceeding 10 million metric tons, or 200,000 barrels a day, the newspaper said.
CNPC’s Beijing-based spokesman Liu Weijiang didn’t reply to calls to his office. CNPC is the parent of Hong Kong-listed PetroChina Co.
