Mibam single bonus paid to miners folded to job retraining


Ciudad Bolivar, 17 Nov. ABN .- This Thursday Nov. 20 will be
delivered the first payment of a bonus offered only by the national
government to artisanal miners, who hosted a program of voluntary eradication of mining in the Caroni Basin and their conversion into other labor productive activities.

This was announced president of the Foundation Mission Piar, Lesbia Sanchez, who noted that such payments will benefit more than 6 thousand miners who were registered in the census carried out by the Ministry of People's Power for Basic Industry and Mining (Mibam).

These miners benefited from the process of voluntary relocation in
areas with less environmental impact chosen by the authorities, as
well as a training program for the work to convert to agriculture,
tourism, construction and other activities other than mining gold and diamond.

Within the process of conversion, he recalled, was established to pay bonuses equivalent to monthly salaries to ensure the survival of these families during the months they were trained in other
professions, plus a final payment of close to 10 thousand strong
bolivars to each miner and mining.

The cancellation of this unique bond will start on Thursday at 10:00 am in the Park Ruiz Pineda, in Ciudad Bolivar, in a ceremony to be attended by the Minister of People's Power for Basic Industry and Mining, Rodolfo Sanz, and governor of Bolivar state, Francisco Rangel Gomez.
