Caracas, Nov 05. ABN .- The Minister of People's Power for Basic Industry and Mining (Mibam), Rodolfo Sanz, reported that from 2009, is estimated to increase the production capacity of gold from 4.2 to 8, 2 tons per year.
In a radio interview granted to the radio station Voice of Guyana, located on the east, Sanz said that in 2008 increased the production capacity of gold, which closed with the goal of 1.5 tons of gold.
"Following the financial crisis that has spread globally, it is necessary to try to recover our gold to increase our international reserves," he said.
He noted that the National Executive plans to boost the industrialization of mining in Venezuela, with the firm intention of finally eradicating the artisanal mining, said a press release.
He added that a major reason that obliges the Venezuelan State to change the model mine in the country, is the need to generate jobs and eliminate the pollution that creates so much harm to the environment.
"Mining must be processed to generate jobs, bring technology into the country and chaining transformation processes," he said.
As an example of the implementation of the policy of industrialization from mining, the minister Sanz said that the Venezuelan State already has plants under the control exercised mining operations in the country, which had previously been granted under the concession contained .
Such is the case of producing gold: The Camorra and Revemin, which is currently being administered by the state company Minerven with them and is being implemented in the process of mining.
The Camorra extracted 700 tonnes of gold-bearing material of which gets a production of 6.3 kilograms of gold a day, while a few thousand Revemin processed 500 tonnes of gold-bearing material which draws about 13.5 kilograms of gold daily.
"This is a jump of more than 100% of production in just three months, as a result of increased production capacity of the plants that are now owned by the state," he said.
Additionally, he said that for 2009 is estimated exploiting the Las Cristinas mine, which was in the hands of the transnational corporation Cristalex to that date will be restored and operated under the state administration.
"Las Cristinas, is established as one of the largest gold deposits in Latin America and one of the largest in the world. It has a capacity of about 31 million ounces of gold, worth about 35 billion dollars, "he explained.
It also emphasized that the State hopes to recover in-the-zone Guaniamo a number of plants operating in diamonds, which are being operated by private companies, as well as a project expected to start operating in the industrial diamond, which will be used for multiple industrial uses.
