i see one legitimate statement KRY could make:

1. we've recieved positive news regarding the permit approval and have decided to give the ven govt ample time for a formal permit decision. in the current environment we have decided that if no formal decision is made by xx/xx/08 then we must take all necessary action to promote shareholder value.

I see no reason why a statement like this could not be issued with judicious selection of "deadline" date and not be antagonistic or in conflict with whatever positive developments might (or might not) be going on with Venezuelan officials behind the scenes. Since KRY management is in constant contact with Venezuelan oficials...I'm sure that the KRY press release could be vetted with them beforehand so as not to offend or screw up ongoing negotiations. Surely our partner (the CVG) will understand the concern of KRY shareholders (the ONLY ones putting up ANY cash) at this point...and will endorse any press release that will keep the people financing this whole show "interested" in staying in the game.
