I would hope Chavez is not waiting for U.S. elections to form his policy on gold mining. In fact, I would hope (nor would it make sense) that he is waiting for the outcome of the Vz. elections to form policy. It would make more sense to me (ooops...there I go again using common sense and logic and applying it to Vz.) that he come up with a policy on mining AHEAD of the Vz. elections, and using his 'special powers' to maximize his popular appeal ahead of the Vz. vote. Officials have already gone on record indicating that the NA would formally approve the 'new mining law' sometime in June. Given the Venezuelan 'broken clock' syndrome in the context of the July 31st expiration of Hugo's 'special powers', I would expect the new mining law to be ratified sometime in July with much public fanfare. Of course....I am of the opinion that KRY will go forward as a consequence to this ratification....but what choice do I have. I'm down close to 80% on my investment.
