Sasa....imo Obama is the nightmare candidate as far as the U.S. economy is concerned. Happily, therefore, he is the knight in shining armour when it comes to ensuring the continued great fundamentals for gold. I also believe that he may be one of the best candidates for improving relations with Chavez. Like Nevil Chamberlain....he will ignore the "teeth of the dog" and, instead, stroke it's fur and befriend it. This would be good news for investors in Venezuela. A public handshake between the U.S. and Venezuela would do two things. It would allow Chavez to "save face" in moderating\evolving Vz. policy to one that is more capitalist friendly (even though it would still be advertised as the Socialist Revolution) while at the same time improving the Vz. economy....and, of course, Hugo's popular support. I gotta believe that Hugo is jealous of the Chinese economic powerhouse. If only he could duplicate some of the Chinese economic success...that might keep him in power for many, many years. Hell...the Chinese are still commies, right? Hell...Hillary and Obama are wanna-be commies as well. Bad for the U.S. long term....but good for us gold bugs in the short run perhaps.
