I know that there have been some concerns raised about the status of existing contracts specific to the outcome of the referendum, so I recently penned a question to RM for his imput. I received the follow that you may be interested in reading:
(Q). I know it is difficult to predict the actions of the MinAmb and the minister relative to the timing of the permit, but let me ask you if your contract (with CVG or other) has any probability of being altered, terminated or changed in anyway depending on the outcome of the December 2nd referendum.
(A). The Venezuelan Referendum on December 2nd has nothing to do with mining or the mining laws.
While there's frequent speculation in chat rooms about the status of the Las Cristinas MOA we have not had any discussions with any agencies regarding terms of our agreement and have found that contracts and agreements in Venezuela are well protected and honored as long as they are in compliance with their terms.
