We already pushed the limits of nondiclosure once. Generally, 10 days is considered a short period where stabilization is expected. They'd have to be able to tell the regulators that there was a specific timeframe as in drilling results in order to avoid more disclosure. Mind you, 45 days is not unreasonable if you believe you have good prospects for a deal to conclude satisfactorially.

There is also the question of prejudice. Telling us the terms are extended should not prejudice the negotiations. Seems to me that is a good faith public statement.
