The above bold is an excerpt from a post I previously submitted about Teck (as Cominco) having history in BC's northwest area with gold mining, specifically the Snip Mine.

I also made reference to Barrick because I understand they are exploring for gold in the area. Also note, Barrick did offer to purchase NovaGold's Galore Creek in 2006, after being involved with Snip Mine and Eskay Creek; so the big guy(s) are aware of the gold in the NW - they'll come again.
