Actually, THE LAW, a 500% gain over 10 years represents a return on investment of almost 17.5% annually, if compounded annually. That would be "a winner", at least in my books.

That being said, I believe your point is that nobody wants to wait that long on one stock in their portfolio to score at that level, when we are all expecting a homerun in a significantly shorter period of time. After all, a ROI of 500% in 2 years is a game changer for most portfolios, and especially when the portfolio is heavily weighted in that one stock.
