In January at the Vancouver Show. Mike told me that the Mine Plan will be released before the BFS, he was very firm on this. Sure, its been a long 8 months since then. But the order of events should remain the same even with such tremendous delays.
I think the BFS is a done deal because of the details in the September 4th NR:
Feasibility Study
The results of the feasibility study for the Schaft Creek project are expected to be delivered in September 2012. The optimized mine plan has been completed. Sensitivity studies related to capital recovery versus daily mill throughput are being completed to select the optimal start-up scenario for the Schaft Creek project. The final phase of the feasibility study, the economic analysis, is expected to be completed in early September. The majority of the sections of the feasibility study have been drafted and reviewed.
Its past early Sept, so expect the "FINAL PHASE" to be completed. The drill fiasco is an indication to me that Teck tried to play hardball and Elmer said "sure no problem, EE you want to fund another drill program till Nov?" Then Teck came back to the table.
The BFS details are available and ready for final delivery. But neither CUU or Teck want it formally delivered until they come up with an agreement. Based on this NR, I hope CUU releases the BFS in September whether Teck is ready or not. (if this is all true). Even if a deal is not fully on paper, CUU releases the BFS then continues working out a deal in the short term before any other "Players" come sniffing around.
Teck getting Ready to Move?
Then you have the Sept 14th Teck NR: with a new VP of Exploration Alex Christopher. Who was previously a General Manager of New Ventures. He may have been working with CUU along the way and since promoted to oversee the buyout. NR reads:
Alex is responsible for Teck's global exploration efforts and overseeing active identification, pursuit and acquisition of early stage exploration to pre-development stage opportunities, as well as developing and maintaining key relationships with junior partners and the junior mining industry in general.
