I wouldn't worry about Israeli shale oil competing with the oilsands. Our oil goes to the U.S the Israeli oil would probably got to Europe..

Another thing, would the Arab States allow Israel to develop their oil or go to war.I don't see the Arab States looking to kindly to competition..One must remember that many Arab States, particularly Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Dubai enjoy the military protection they get from the U.S because of their oil. If Israel develops their oil then the West would no longer be too interested in protecting these countries.
