Hi Rebels
I'm not so against that theory because in pure thinking a commodity will end at some point in time that's a fact but if oil can go up in a reasonable pace that's fine for me but if oil runs up very fast that's looking for trouble.
So the Peak Oil Theory has indeed some reasonable status but no one can exactly predict how the future will be.What we see up here is that solar systems and wind power systems are rapidly coming up.I heard recently that a company will pay back their investments in solars to peope who has placed them on the roofs. They will pay back almost all the investment so that ultimatly they have only payed 500 €.But in return they claim the sertificates which means that they can sell the electricity that is not used during the day .I don't know in Canada about these sytems but if I look around up here you can see specially on new built houses and companies that they place solar system on their roofs.
So I think people wil search for new use of technics to counter the oil price in the future and that can be positive.Recent spike in fuel and heating oil showed that energy use was becoming a big cost.If people can use newer technics if oil goes further up then an oil price could not bring much damage and econmy can bear that.I hope we will see such an event but I'm not sure.
Why is the gold price going up again ?It's a sign that investors don't trust the future. It's like investors don't have much faith in paper money and they are looking for other alternitive .In fact money is just some piece of paper which can devaluate fast if somethin goes wrong .Hard assets are the a better option.
I think stock markets will go up and down for a long time.It surprised me that the markets are holding up so well.
Hope for us PDP founds a good well with minor problems.
PS I will contribute to the oil market. Finally found a Chevy Avalanche..Very nice car with big alloy 24 inch wheels on it.It's the LTZ version.
