Brian,
My father actually alerted me to UTS in 2003. I read about it, casually, until I started learning a lot more about peak oil a year or so later. I then bought my position in CLL in 2005, as a result of my research into UTS. I figured that instead of investing into UTS, CLL had more potential in the short term. I expect Connacher to eventually double the share price of UTS. On the day that happens, I will probably sell a portion of my CLL and convert to UTS. In the end, it will mean that I have more UTS shares than I could have afforded in 2005, plus a position in CLL. I am patient, and certainly regret having just held a constant position in CLL all this time - had I known the trading channel patterns, I would have been in and out frequently over the past couple of years. But hindsight is 20:20, and at least I'm comfortable that my investment will pay off in the long term.
If I recall correctly, there have been two trading days in the past couple of years where CLL briefly surpassed UTS. I expect that next time this happens, it will stay ahead going forward.
