Depleting our own resources and prolonging natural sites is not a stupid move. Not only is this forcing us to explore more effecient technologies, it is giving the US a stonger foothold in the future. I am glad to see our government thinking longterm and not just about fulfilling America's spoiled demands.

So waging wars to protect foreign oil supplies is a smart move?

I say to hell with the cariboo, drill in Anwar, Kansas and Oklahoma and let the rest of the world fight over the middle eastern oil supply. Don't forget that nutbar in Venezuela
