AS reported, one year ago Patrick Swayze was diagnosed with inoperable stage-four pancreatic cancer which, basically, gave him a go for four months. For the first time Swayze is finally speaking out about it. To - surprise, surprise - Barbara Walters.

He's gaunt but still has his hair. He's had a tough fight with chemo. Having completed his first round and, now, told the condition has not remained localized, he tells how he's embarking on yet another different treatment form. He tells how the condition was initially discovered. He tells how, while filming his TV series "The Beast" in Chicago Monday to Friday, he'd fly to LA every Saturday for "hideous" chemotherapy.

So how is he? In survival mode. Angry with the media's death watch. Hopeful. Spirited. This was shot at his ranch in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains, and Patrick even rode horseback.

The interview is on Barbara's special this Wednesday, 10 p.m., ABC-TV.
