Quick story, ,,, I have a Polish friend.. during W.War #2.. when the Germans at 2.00AM come to their Polish resident.. Aucktoone was orders.. sisters, brothers, mother,father on the street.

All load on different vehicles and away they go to various destinations. My friend and his father eventually arrive at at German Pig Farmer's resident where they're assigned to feed and live with the pigs.

He was 5 years old and that was they're home for 6 years. They literally lived, ate what the pigs ate, and slept with the pigs until one day, USA soldiers came to the farm and rescued them. The USA Sergeant was so appalled at my Polish Friend appearance and that of his Father, he handed his rifle to the Father and gave him the chance to shoot the farmer. The father chose not to do it.

They were then transferred to a Refugee Camp in France for many months then transferred to a camp in Italy for 2 years before coming to Canada.

This Polish young man now living in Ontario, has a wonderful family and although he never had any schooling he fluently speaks.. Polish .. French .. Italian .. German .. English.

At a party, I witness him flowing through the crowd telling the same joke in AL 5 languages. He just retired from a major Canadian manufacturing firm with full pension benefits.
