Just a thought, but with the falling price of oil I would think that the Ecuadorian government will be more motivated to get things moving in the mining area sooner rather than later.
They are probably sitting there now tallying up the losses as the price per barrel sinks below $120 and someone is pointing to the mining law and saying " you know fellas, if we get this mining law out there, lift the restrictions and everyone gets back to work we can begin collecting some revenue"
True, but they should have thought of this a year ago. Lead times in the mining industry run to years and the only near term producer is Dynasty, which is a tiny operation. Not much revenue there.
Of course as an advisor to the Ecuadorean Govt. I told them all this years ago, but did they listen to me?
