Acosta announced his resignation today in front of the House

This issue is regarded as a point addressed at the meeting this Monday on the agenda of the Assembly, and the assembly will be responsible for approving or rejecting this position.

According to one call made the early hours of this Monday by the secretary of the National Constituent Assembly, Francisco Vergara, the second point which is treated in the afternoon today in the House, is the resignation of Alberto Acosta for the presidency of this body.

This announcement is not yet published in the official website of the Assembly as is customary, however it is known that Acosta resigned on Friday to the presidency, but not in his capacity as Assemblyman.

The Assemblyman Country Alliance, Monica Chuji, was surprised by the news and said no details of the resignation of Acosta, who barely received at night where the communiqué specified that on the agenda plenary will discuss this issue .

For his part, senior vice president of the Assembly, Fernando Cordero, also of the movement oficialista Country Agreement, finds no explanation for the decision to Acosta, and indicated that his resignation is not a matter concluded, so it reiterated that it is a personal matter.

He added that if the irreversible decision to Acosta, "temporarily assume-the-presidency, if a waiver definitive, because the Assembly must reconfigure his presidency and must re-elect its president."

Alberto Acosta is a member of the governing party, Alianza Pais and was elected chairman of the Assembly for being the most voted candidate in the election of members of this body. The full seven months ago discussed the new Constitution of Ecuador and will cease to hold office next July 26.
