Still puzzled why more of the other miners haven't shut down. Unity here would be very beneficial along with the LOUD message that the economy and jobs are going to get hit.

They are probably just waiting for the official order. There are also some things that need to be done before shutting down - moving equipment to secure locations, removing any hazards, etc.

No point laying everyone off before you have to, since it just imposes more hardship on them. Better to keep them on till the last minute, even pay them a maintenance allowance if you can. That way it's clear to them that you aren't taking advantage of the situation and they're more likely to return when you need them.

Frankly I'm appalled at the impact this will have on people's lives and the utter disregard of that fact by the people in charge. Meanwhile, motions are tabled on a woman's right to sexual satisfaction? What a bunch of self-indulgent narcissists. Can it get any more bizarre? Any day now we'll see a motion for a woman's right to shoes and accessories along with State subsidized beauty salons, because you know, a woman's got a constitutional right to look good for her man, whether or not he's got a job that can feed his family.
