I dont think it is the responsibility for mining companies to be setting up schools or charities and I dont think this is in the scope of responsibility for the management to be considering. I would vote against it if it was put to a shareholder vote.

I dont think they have expertise in this area.

I think they should maximize profits from the work they do and this work needs to be done in a responsible manner.

Its by the company maximizing profits that the local govts can get taxes and then the local govt should be determining how to spread the wealth to the betermine of its citizens.
