I did not mean to be so down on Mr. Monk but the man you have described is not the same man that is running the Barrick Gold Corporation that I have followed and come to dislike.  In reality probably Mr. Monk is just a figure head now at Barrick and the inmates have taken over the jail.

But any person who says gold is going much higher on one hand and then by his actions runs a company that has 9,500,000 of gold hedges, that they try to keep secret from the public, is not very truthful.  If they think gold was going up ( Like Newmont, Anglo, Newcrest)  then why would they not try to get out of their negative position like the others have??

Barrick is a company not to be trusted and as head of the company Mr. Monk must stand up and be responsible for the actions of his company.....philanthropist  or not !!
