I think it shows that life goes the way it is meant to be while it may seem mean or unfair, but, there's always a reason.

Peter Munk was a youngster when the family fled to Switzerland; his parents were well-to-do people, and even at that their lives were at a great risk at the time. Through no personal fault of their own, being a Jew meant they had to be very careful; rich or poor didn't really matter except for this instance. They paid to get out, but there was no chance of going back and getting back what they had lost, i.e., their homes, personal possessions, friends etc. It would be the same as if we were to get kicked out of our homeland and were never allowed back.

Two times I have listened to him while he was being interviewed. In both interviews he mentioned how grateful he is that the family came to North America and Canada. Because of that, he has always felt he owes this society a great debt.

He seems like a humble person in some ways. I suspect he is donating his money solely because of his spiritual convictions, and not because he seeks fame; I think the media is to blame for that.

There is a time and place for everything; I suppose this is the time he fulfils what he believes.
