We may not make much money, but we sure have a lot of fun!
I actually agree with most of what you say here, although i thought a gold bug was someone always permanently bullish on gold. Like someone being so through the 80's and 90's, not such a good idea.
As for letter writers i pretty much agree, they win some they lose some, if i see them win some i go the other way on their next big crash or breakout call. I did it with Bob Hoy, he called the crash the last time basically using the gold/silver ratio when it got up to the i think 95 range. Historically he said this is an area where a turn would occur. He was right and was heralded for this call, the ratio give or take then went to low 60's i think. It then moved up to 68 and he said a breakthrough this level would start another deflationary scare, a yr or 2 ago if i remember. I coach alot of people and they all wanted to dump, i said 72 was the level it had to cross, it got to 72 and dropped to the low 40's with no market crash. So i guess what i am saying is not often do they et 2 major turns correct in a row, i agree with you.
As for Taylor i remember all the juniors tanking and for awhile, Taylor hung in there and then at the bottom he sent out to sell everythin pretty much. The same day after reading this i bought 300k shares of gpr as they hit 18 cents in 09 i think, it turned that day and ended up at close to 5 bucks. So i definitely agree again, oh and thanks Jay...lol
I sold way to soon but mommy still got a new pair of shoes.
Ask anyone who gambled or ever had a bookie and you will learn of confirmation bias...lol
