I can just see some overanxious parents poisoning their children with this, or some other form of toxic iodine. If I were a pharmacist anywhere outside Japan, I'd take all my iodine products off the shelf until the hysteria dies down.

Iodine for radiation, go to your pharmacy and ask for a bottle of Lugol's solution.

Daily dose, 5 drops in orange juice should stop you from glowing in the dark and you don't need a prescription.

Not all pharmacies carry Lugol's.
