OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) _ Wi-Lan Inc. (WILN) on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $829,000, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Ottawa, Ontario-based company said it had net income of 1 cent per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and pretax expenses, came to 10 cents per share.

The patent holding company posted revenue of $21.4 million in the period.

The company's shares closed at $1.91. A year ago, they were trading at $3.32.
