Message: Re: WiLAN Grants Wireless License to Telrad Networks

Interesting...Wilan leaves this part out of their Telrad description.

Telrad Networks is now a leading 4G solution provider with the recent acquisition of the Alvarion 4G product portfolio. This acquisition optimizes value for the combined customer base and demonstrates our commitment to deliver LTE-Advanced Solutions to the global market. 4G technology is experiencing rapid growth worldwide due to its ability to enable wireless broadband connectivity to meet the need for Internet access in areas with little or no access infrastructure. Merging best-of-breed products with Telrad's world-class products, services and market expertise, guarantees that our customers continue to benefit from high quality and proven end-to-end solutions. Telrad Networks is a global provider, and is owned by private equity fund Fortissimo Capital, a group of private equity funds with nearly $500 million under their management

Telrad bought the 4G portfolio from Alvarion after Wilan "Cherry Picked" the 4G patents they wanted.

Likely there is a relatively small revenue stream, BUT the license establishes a royalty rate for LTE that will crucial to current litigation. In addition, since Wilan has already consumated one deal for Alvarion IP, the last sentence in para #2 of the NR, "We look forward to working with them in the future to collaborate on patent acquisition or
partnering matters." is also significant.
