That possibility has been discussed.
Ionophores are used to treat Coccidiosis which is a parasitic infection. I do not know what trials, if any, have been done with Agrastim and parasites.
Coccidiosis is easily transmitted and flock infection often produces high mortality. Farms that raise or "finish" animals in very densely populated environments are most succeptable to coccidiosis.
"Certified Organic" farm plans require considerably more space than conventional, non-organic production. The additional space helps to reduce parasitic infection and control transmission. The additional space required is just one of the factors that contribute to the higher cost of "Certified Organic" production.
