Way off topic: Valentine's Day

We've been drowing in in sarcasm here, so I decided on a change of pace post.
I wrote this for my daughter who is away at college while we here in New York are getting a winter to remember. Those of you who are dads might appreciate the sentiment. If not, well, report it as a violation, and it might disappear in a few days for being SO off topic.
Best regards,

Valentine’s Day
I got out o’ bed.
The cold north wind blew.
The snow was a blockin'
The sky from my view.
The drifts piled up high
Against the front door.
I shoveled a while,
They piled up some more.
The roses are sleepin',
The violets are, too.
They're covered with blankets
'til winter is through.
I'm lookin' outside.
The snow's whippin' round
There's soon gonna be
Three feet on the ground.
I know you would like it.
You'd say, "Dad, let's go.
It's just right for sledding.
Let's play in the snow."
"Let's build a fat snowman
With big carrot nose
And play in the snowdrifts
'til frost bites our toes."
You'd pelt me with snowballs.
We'd laugh and we'd run
And roll in the snow banks,
And have so much fun!
I'm cheering my heart with
warm thoughts of your smile.
I think I'll sit down and
Remember a while.
I sit, and I think of
Fun times through the years,
The ones that I missed
Make me fight back the tears.
How much I would give
for a slide down the hill,
Endless mugs of hot cocoa
'til we'd both had our fill.
I'd take a few snowballs
Direct on the ear
For just one more sled ride
While holding you near!
The thought of you with me
Is cheerin’ this heart,
I’ve lots of good mem’ries
Though we’re far apart.
I'm sitin’ an’ wond’rin’.
Oh, tell me it's true
That I showed you, plenty,
How much I love you.
