Who is Dr. Nino Sorgenté ?
Dr. Nino Sorgenté received his Masters of Science in Biology from DePaul University and his Doctorate in Biochemistry from Loyola University in Chicago.
He has held both Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in areas of Pathology and Ophthalmology at the University of Southern California – Los Angeles.
His professional career has been primarily in the area of Research and Development with companies such as IOLAB Corp. and Doheny Eye Institute. He became vice president of research and development of Immudyne, Inc. in 1998. Nino Sorgenté has had extensive experience in research of various aspects of human biological systems and in the formulation of health products for use as human supplements and as promoter of skin health.
Nino Sorgenté was a professor at the University of Southern California School of Medicine until 1990, where he taught biochemistry, molecular biology and immunology and conducted research on various aspects of cancer biology and ocular diseases. From 1990 to 1993 Nino Sorgenté was a senior Scientist at one of Johnson and Johnson’s facilities, and from 1993 to 1998 was a visiting professor at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, where he conducted research on the biology of skin. He was a visiting scientist for Hoffmann-La Roche in the area of molecular biology.
Nino Sorgenté has significant experience in the role of the immune system in health and in particular on the effect of an active immune system on skin aging and health, and has developed a complete line of commercially successful skin care products. Nino Sorgenté is the author of a range of scientific articles and is extensively published in such prestigious journals as The American Journal of Pathology, Endiocrinology, and the American Journal of Ophthalmology. He holds numerous US and international patents, including one with Phillip A. Courie, Jr. and Amy J. Miles, for the extraction of beta- 1,3/1,6-D-glucan as an immunopotentiating agent for use in animals.
Dr. Nino Sorgenté is recognized as one of the leading beta glucan researchers in the world for his contributions to the cosmetic, medical and agricultural applications of beta glucan. His work has been conducted extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Japan.
