As you mentioned, I was able to psend weeks in the Frobidden City in Peking by myslf, alone, no others, I often ate my lunch under the tree where the last of the MIngs hung himself on Coal hill. Now hundreds to thousands are there daily.

As For Mexico it was almost the same as in some of the Present Westerns where a lone gringo rides into an old town on his horse or Mule. Even a bit of banditry and shooting thrown in.

To capture my child bride - she had just rurned 17 - I had to go through the old fashioned formal Spanish courtship -- hmm, come to think of it, I never did ask her to marry me?? spose I can get out of it now??
