The life that I had the unique opportunity to live so far --- explorations from the Gobi, back to northern Mexico, looking for lost mines, wandering through Old Peking's forbidden city by myself for weeks , dining with Cannibals, looking for lost Mayan ruins, living off of the jungle for 6 months, finding the Legendary, lost Jesuit mine of Tayopa, etc. etc. can never be done by today's potential adventurers since the world's conditions have changed so radically, even though they are quite capable.

I was extremely fortunate, besides having you as friends, in being voted into the unique Explorers Club, sigh. Even had two wars and fun as a military pilot, sigh, yes I have been very fortunate, but remember, all of you are my friends, I intend to have a fantastic blow out on my 150 th birthday, don't disappoint me, be there, 'all' of you !!.

I count Jim, among others, as a personal friend. And will soon see UC prosper !
