Your statement reminds me of a conversation I had with my 5 year old, who went to 3 skating lessons, and declares that skating is too hard and she will never skate again.
It was on Jan 25, 2010 that UC Anncounced that they've arranged Financing to Put the La Yesca Mill Back into Production. So they've only been at this for 1 year, not the 3 to 6 year's you're talking about. Sure, Hamlin left a pile of metal 3 years ago, but that was smoke and mirrors, not a mill.
In 12 months time, Jim and his crew has completed rebuilding the mill, installed back-up generators, fixed the road, completed commissioning of the mill and began fine tunning to find the production sweet spot. They are currently in the fine tunning stage, and all of us are eagerly awaiting the results. We all would have like to see this process go faster, but one year is not unreasonable in this industry for what Jim and his crew has accomplished.
I'm not sure what has "convinced" you that the mill is "officially" a bust. Unless you know someothing I don't, your post expressed as much maturity as my 5 year old.
