The question you pose could be answered by a fair-sized library of books on the topic. My very quick response and strictly my opionion is that you can't go wrong by taking a position in bullion. Bullion coins are my choice for convenience and liquidity. Any % of your total investment $s would be good as far as I can see today.

For potentially much more explosive growth, you can look into junior precious metal shares, but this is a tricky game requiring much study (due diligence) and not to be undertaken except with funds you can afford to lose.

UC Resources has great potential or we wouldn't be here. However,to be prudent, there are pros and cons you must dig out before committing substantial funds.
