I opened a Tax Free Saving Account yesterday.

I called TD Waterhouse (where I have other accounts) for info on how to open a TFSA and was told to go to a TD Bank branch to open the account. It took about 15 minutes and will take 2-10 days for the account to actually be activated - due to backlog of paperwork to open such accounts.

I can put cash into the acccount or transfer stocks or other investments into the account. I plan to transfer $5k stock (UC) from one of my "other" accounts into the TFSA. To do so I call TD Webroker and have it done by one of their agents.

Simple. Now for UC to go to the moon and make AMan a Happy |Man
