A while back on another board I calculated the Gross Ore Value of the La Yesca tailings which at the time worked out to about $108 a tonne.
"Assuming 275,000 tonnes of tailing @ 7.72 oz/ton Ag @$11/oz, 1.2 gpt Au @ $600/oz, gross revenue per tonne is $108.07."
This paved the way for a decent profit margin but despite the mill setback, the good news is prices are way up today, have bottomed in my view and are set for the next leg up. Assuming current prices, the GOV has appreciated substantially thanks to the high Price Of Silver & large Silver component in the tailings.
So by my estimation this huge stockpile of tailings is now worth $164 a tonne for a increase of 52% in about 18 months, or approximately 35% annualized. Not a bad return if and when the mill gets up and running. Now imagine the compounding effect if these appreciation rates are sustained. The bottom line is going to look mighty juicy indeed and this is but one reason I continue to grit what's left of my teeth and hold.
