Message: Question: Recovery Rates

This is a great question and thanks for asking UC for clarification.

My understanding has been that the rate of recovery has not been the show stopper at La Yesca.  Hamelin (the ex Pres) spec'd 200 te's a day of ore and targeted 700 te by year end 2007.  Neither occurred and consequently there has been a major change out of Pres / CEO, and Operations & Technical personnel on this project.  If I recall correctly they have run the mill at the rate of, or near the rate of 200 te /day during trials.  It would be great to know if the process improvements and equipment they have ordered would allow it run consistently at either of these levels.

The show stopper has been the purity of the extraction.  This is the reason for the Ph.D. assistance the lab upgrade at Guadalajara.  To date the metal extraction has been contaminated with other trace metals and less than saleable.

This NR avoids the term ‘saleable silver and gold’ and the term ‘cash flow’ so I am inclined to think that the puzzle of reagents and refinement remains unsolved.
